When a product is archived or deleted in Shopify, its address starts returning a page-not-found, and everything pointing at it — search results, old emails, a blog post from two years ago — lands there too. Redirects Easily creates the redirect the moment a product goes, sending it to the collection it belonged to, a chosen page or the home page, and does the same in bulk for a whole season's worth of discontinued items in one step.

Search ranking is a thing stores build for years and lose one deleted product at a time, and nobody notices because a 404 does not send an email.
The sensible default is to redirect to the product's own collection, and that is the default here. Small, free, and the kind of thing that should probably have been in Shopify itself — which is a compliment to the people who noticed it was not.
Thanks for including it — that write-up covers it better than my own listing does.
One thing that isn't obvious from outside: Shopify can do redirects, but only by hand, one at a time, in Online Store → Navigation → URL Redirects. Nobody does that when they're clearing out a season of stock, which is exactly when it matters. The app also catches products removed by other apps and bulk tools, which is where most of the silent 404s come from — you never even know they happened.
I built it because I kept doing this by hand on my own stores and kept forgetting. It's early, so if anyone tries it and something's missing or awkward, tell me and I'll fix it.
