Pinpoint Search AI
1 commentThe first launch from Pinpoint Search AI

Pinpoint replaces a storefront's search results with ones ranked by what the shopper meant: a description like "something for dark circles" finds the under-eye cream, and a part number typed exactly is pinned to the first position where no merchandising rule can bury it. Synonyms, pins, boosts and buries are set by the merchant, analytics show which searches fill carts and which return nothing, and the app never writes to the catalogue.

Site search is where a store with a big catalogue quietly loses people, and Shopify's default is generous to the point of uselessness on anything with more than a few hundred products.
The SKU rule is the part that made me put this up rather than file it with the other AI search apps: a customer who types a part number knows exactly what they want, and a ranking model that second-guesses them is worse than no model. Starting at $149 a month it is aimed at parts and B2B catalogues, and priced like it.
