Outlier is a desktop app for Apple Silicon Macs that runs models on the machine. Chat, file edits, tests, and optional web research stay on disk unless you turn a network feature on. Free includes Nano and Lite. Pro is a one-time purchase and adds Core, Vision, and a larger Plus tier. macOS 12 or later. Intel Macs are not supported.

I wanted a local chat that is an app, not a Python env. Outlier downloads a small model on first launch and then works offline on Apple Silicon.
I have not run a long agent job in it. The free Nano and Lite tiers are the honest start; Pro is a one-time buy if you need Vision or the larger tiers.
