Meta Flow

A map of how your Shopify metafields reference each other

Metafield and metaobject definitions accumulate as a store grows, and the references between them — a product field that points at a metaobject that points at another — end up living in nobody's head. Meta Flow reads the definitions already in the store and draws them as one connected graph across every owner type, with search that highlights matches on the map and a link from each node straight into its definition in the admin.

Metaobjects turned Shopify into a small content database, and Shopify shipped that without shipping a way to see the schema. Anyone who has inherited a store built by an agency knows the feeling of clicking through definitions one at a time trying to work out what references what.

A read-only picture of the schema is exactly the tool that is missing. Free, does one thing, and I could not find anything else on the store that does it.
