Four US states charge a recycling fee on every mattress and foundation sold to their residents, and the amount, the label on the receipt and the monthly report are all set by the state. This app adds the right per-unit fee for the shipping destination at checkout, under the wording each state requires, then checks every order server-side so express checkouts that bypass checkout customisations are caught too. The dashboard keeps the monthly unit counts the Mattress Recycling Council asks for.

I am putting this up precisely because it is unglamorous. A $9 app that does one regulatory chore correctly for one industry is what most of the software economy actually looks like, and it never gets a launch.
The server-side audit is the part that shows the builder has done this for real: the fee applied at checkout is the easy half, and the express-checkout orders that skip it are how a mattress store fails an audit. Plus-only for now, which will limit who can use it.
