Lofi Cities
1 commentThe first launch from Lofi Cities
Lofi Cities is a free web app that pairs animated pixel-art cityscapes with lofi music composed live using the Web Audio API. No samples, no loops, and no account required. The music is synthesized in the browser from scratch, so every session is unique. City ambience, focus and sleep timers, and a together mode for shared reactions round out the experience. It works offline after the first visit. Built by Safa Elmali.

Most lofi streams are Spotify playlists with a static background. Lofi Cities synthesizes the music in real time with no samples, so the track never repeats, and the pixel-art cities are animated enough that you can look up and see something moving.
The offline-first design is what made me look twice. A focus tool that stops working when the wifi drops is not a focus tool. Lofi Cities caches everything after the first visit, so you can open it on a plane or in a cabin and the music still plays. I have not tested the together mode yet. The first thing I would check is whether the shared reactions stay synchronized when someone joins from a slow connection, or whether the real-time aspect falls apart under network pressure.
