Kapshot
1 commentThe first launch from Kapshot
Kapshot captures screenshots and screen recordings on Mac with automatic background removal, rounded corners, shadows, and professional presets that make interface captures look ready to ship. It replaces the default Mac screenshot tool with one that produces marketing-quality images without opening an editor afterward. Recordings include cursor highlighting, keystroke display, and trim controls. Everything stays local, nothing is uploaded.

The default Mac screenshot tool produces images that look unfinished, so you spend five minutes in an editor adding shadows and rounding corners. Kapshot does that automatically at capture time.
What convinced me to keep it installed is the background removal being instant. Most tools require an upload or a slow local model. This one is fast enough that I stopped thinking about it. The keystroke display for recordings is useful when you are explaining a keyboard-heavy workflow. I have not used the trim controls much yet, but having them in the same tool is better than bouncing to QuickTime.
