IconsDB
1 commentThe first launch from IconsDB

IconsDB is an AI-powered semantic search engine for free open-source icons, logos, and emoji. It indexes over 200,000 icons and lets you search by meaning rather than exact keyword matches. The search understands intent: search for 'happy' and you get smiling faces, celebrations, and positive symbols, not just icons tagged 'happy.' All icons are free and open-source, and the platform requires no signup or account to use. Results are instant, and you can download icons directly. Built by Musthaq Ahamad (haxzie) as a solo project.

Most icon libraries make you search by exact keyword and hope the designer tagged it the same way you think about it. IconsDB runs semantic search across 200,000+ free icons, so you can search by what the icon means rather than what it is called.
The no-signup, no-account part is what makes it useful in the middle of a design session. You do not create an account, you do not authenticate, you just search and download. I have not used it for a production design project yet. The first thing I would verify is whether the semantic search actually understands intent, or if it is keyword matching with a synonym dictionary.
