Chit
1 commentThe first launch from Chit
Chit is an offline Mac app that reads Claude Code session transcripts from your local machine and prints a plain-text receipt summarizing what you built, what the agent did, and how much it cost. It runs entirely offline, no account or upload required. The whole app is 777 KB. It is built for the moment at the end of a coding session when you want to know what actually happened without opening six transcript files.

I now end every Claude Code session with no clear memory of what the agent did or what it cost me. Chit reads the transcripts already on disk and gives you a receipt you can read in ten seconds.
The offline-only design is what made me install it. Nothing leaves the machine, no account, no tracking, just a local script with a GUI. The file size being under a megabyte is not a feature, it is a signal about what kind of tool this is. I would not rely on it for accounting, but for a quick check of whether a session was productive or expensive, it works.
