EU Guarantee Notice by Attest
The EU's mandatory guarantee notice, on every product page
#2 of the day · 9 Sep 2026
From 27 September 2026, anyone selling goods to consumers in the EU has to show the Commission's harmonised legal-guarantee notice before the sale, small shops included. Attest places the official artwork on every product page, unchanged because the regulation says so, in whichever of the 24 EU languages the shopper is browsing in. It runs as a theme block, so the notice stays up even if the app's own servers do not, and it never writes to the theme or the catalogue.

A regulation with a date on it is the rare launch where the timing is the product. Three weeks from the deadline, most small EU shops have not heard of Regulation 2025/1960, and the ones that have are wondering whether a PDF in the footer counts. It does not.
Two decisions here I would have made the same way: rendering the Commission's own image rather than redrawing it, because redrawing is forbidden, and running inside the theme so a compliance notice does not depend on a startup's uptime. Built in Bat Yam, which is a nice thing to see on the board.
