Launch once. Make it count.
Timing, the opening note, and what to do on the day — everything we know about launching well here.
The shape of the day
00:01 UTC
You are live
The whole day's cohort goes live together on the board. Your opening note is pinned to the top of the launch.
Through the day
The conversation
Signals, comments and the first reviews arrive. You answer from the Builder Inbox — this is the part that decides how the day goes.
Midnight
The board closes
Ranked once, archived permanently. A top placement earns a rank badge that stays on your product page.
The morning after
The recap
An email with your final rank and an embeddable badge for your own site. The product page keeps collecting reviews and search traffic from here on.
How to launch
- 1
Pick the day, not the hour
Scheduling is a date. Everything goes live together at 00:01 UTC, so there is no advantage in a clever time — only in a day your people are around. Avoid the day a much bigger launch is already scheduled unless you want to be second.
- 2
Write the opening note before anything else
It gets pinned to the top of your launch and it is the first thing anyone reads. Say what you built, who it is for, and what you are unsure about. The last part is what starts a real thread instead of a row of congratulations.
- 3
Prepare the page, not just the post
A tagline under sixty characters, one screenshot that shows the thing working, and the categories you actually belong in. People arriving from search a month later see this page, not your launch day.
- 4
Tell people the morning of
Not the week before. A launch lasts a day, and attention spent early is attention gone. Send one message to the people who already asked to know.
- 5
Answer every comment once
The Builder Inbox on your launch dashboard is built for exactly this: read state, newest first, so you can work through a hundred comments without losing your place. Answering is the whole difference between a launch and an announcement.
- 6
Ask for reviews the week after
The board forgets in a day. A product page with honest reviews is what is still working for you in three months.
The thing nobody tells you
A launch is not a growth channel. It is a day when the people most likely to try something new are all looking in the same place. Treat it as the start of the conversation on your product page, and the day pays for itself for months. Treat it as the finish line and it is over by Tuesday.
