FAQ

How launching, signalling, ranking and reviews actually work.

Do I have to have built it to put it up?
No. Anyone can scout a product they found. The builders get credited and invited, and they can claim the page and take over managing it.
When does a scheduled launch go live?
At 00:01 in the platform timezone, which is UTC. Scheduling is a date, not a time — everything on the board starts the day together.
How is the ranking calculated?
Signals weighted by who gave them, plus comments from distinct people and how deep the discussion goes. We publish that it is not a raw signal count, and we do not publish the coefficients — a ranking whose exact formula is public is a ranking that gets gamed within a week.
Can I pay to rank higher?
No. Promoted placements exist and they carry a neutral chip, but a promoted row is never given a rank number and sits outside the ranking entirely. The rows around it keep the positions they earned.
Why did my signal not change the number?
Signals are one per person per launch. Signalling again removes it. If the count looks stuck, it is usually because a signal was already counted from this account.
Can I edit a launch after it goes live?
You can edit the product page any time. The launch itself is part of a day that gets ranked and archived, so it settles once the day closes. You can delete a launch while it is a draft or scheduled, and for a short window after go-live.
What happens to my page after launch day?
That is the point of it. Reviews, categories, alternatives and rank badges keep the page worth visiting long after the day ends.
How do Scout Points work?
They come from comments, reviews, threads and shipping things, with a one-time bonus for verifying your account. Every weight is printed on the leaderboard.
Why was my thread not approved?
Every thread is read before it goes live. The guidelines list what gets one turned down, and a rejection tells you it happened rather than swallowing the post.
Do you delete reviews a builder does not like?
No. Reviews are removed for guideline violations, not for being unflattering.
